My child is scheduled to attend Day Camp but will only be attending 4 of the 5 days. Do I get a discount?
No. There are no part-time fees for Day Camp or any other camp. You must pay for the full week.

Do I need to pack a lunch for my child?
Day Campers do not need to pack a lunch unless they have severe food allergies or they want to.

Can my Day Camper be in the same group with a friend?
Although we cannot guarantee placement with friends, we try our best to grant all requests. If day campers of different ages wish to be together, the older camper will be placed with the younger camper’s group as long as it is within two years age difference. Please note your requests on your application or phone the office at 330.376.2267.

Can my 9-year old camper be with her 10-year old friend in
Adventure Day Camp?

Adventure Day Camp is for 10–12 year olds only. Children under 10 will not be placed in Adventure Day Camp. You may request your 10-year old friend to be moved back to the 9-year old group, but the 9-year old group will not be able to participate in Adventure Day Camp.

Resident Camp

How are children assigned to cabins?
At CYO Camp Christopher, children are placed in cabins based on age and gender. This is for the physical and emotional safety of your child.

Can I request a specific cabin mate
for my child?
You may request a cabin mate for your child on the Resident Camp application. CYO will make every effort to honor requests but cannot guarantee cabin placement. Cabin mates are assigned by age and gender and some requests may be denied. Cabin assignments are done the day before campers arrive; therefore, the office cannot tell you beforehand what cabin your camper will be in. Older campers may request to be with younger campers as long as the age difference is within two years. Younger campers will not be moved to an older camper’s cabin.

No. Visiting campers is only permitted on weekends: Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. This applies to holdover campers as well.

There are 3 easy ways to keep in touch with your camper:
  1. Send mail to:
    Camper’s Name
Cabin Name (not available until Sunday registration)
    CYO Camp Christopher
    P.O. Box 267
    Bath, OH 44210
  2. Save on postage and use our camper mailbox! Parents can drop off mail at Sunday Registration into a special camper mailbox. Include your camper’s name, cabin and which day you would like your mail delivered.
  3. E-mail them a note at campermail@clevelandcatholiccharities.org. In the subject line, include your camper’s name and cabin. Your camper will receive a copy of the e-mail but will not be able to reply to the e-mail.

What happens after I send in my child’s registration?
Within two weeks of receiving your registration, CYO Camp Christopher will send you a confirmation letter, parent handbook, health form and transportation information (if applicable). If you have not received your confirmation packet within three weeks, please call to verify that we received your registration.

When is my payment due?
A deposit is required with your application. Final payments are due two weeks prior to your scheduled week at camp. When registering online, the full payment is required.

What if I have to cancel a session? Will I receive a refund?
If you have to cancel a session, please contact the CYO office as soon as possible so the space can be offered to another camper. Requests for refunds must be made in writing one week prior to your scheduled camp week. A processing fee equivalent to your deposit will be charged to all refund requests. After the one week deadline, no refunds will be given except for uncontrollable circumstances.

This is my child’s first camp experience. May we visit the camp prior to him/her coming to camp?
Each year, CYO Camp Christopher hosts an open house one Saturday in May, prior to the start of the camping season. Check our website for this year’s date and time. Everyone is welcome to come explore the grounds, check out our cabins, meet members of our staff, and have questions answered.

Can I deduct my camp fees off my taxes?
CYO Camp Christopher may be an allowable tax deduction and/or flexible spending allowance. CYO encourages you to check with your tax advisor or employer.

Does my child have to be Catholic to attend camp?
No. A large portion of our campers and staff are Catholic but it is not a requirement to attend. Throughout the week, we celebrate our faith, sing prayers before and after meals, and attend Mass or Prayer Sessions. Our camp activities are structured around the appreciation of ourselves, others, and the natural environment. We offer no formal religious training.

What are the safety procedures during inclement weather?
Camp Christopher recognizes safety first. If there is threatening weather (tornado, thunderstorms), campers are taken to the lowest part of camp to the most secure building until the warning is over. There is no basement at camp. We work with Bath Police and Fire & Rescue on emergency procedures.
