Programs : Programs for Persons with Disabilities : Recreational Respite

"No Better Way to Spend a Saturday Night" is our motto, and we swear by it! The CYO RR program began in 1989 at the request of families who needed a break from the twenty-four a day care that they provided to their family member with a disability. This program allows persons with disabilities to enjoy structured activities while families receive a much-needed break from care.

The program offers swimming, basketball, arts & crafts, cooking, card games, picnics and most importantly, socialization. The RR program is proud of all the places it has traveled. Our participants have had opportunities to visit festivals, special events, amusement parks, theaters, restaurants and more. And while our participants have been enjoying themselves, families have been able to take the time they need to refresh themselves so they can continue to provide quality care in their home.

The ratio of supervision for Recreational Respite is 1 staff to 4 participants.
